Screen-shot of Change.gov

As if the Twitter feeds, Facebook applications, e-mail updates and mobile alerts weren’t enough to demonstrate that President-elect Barack Obama and his team of experts are acutely aware of how to communicate with and move the youth of America, they’ve upped the ante by launching change.gov

This site ensures that Americans will be kept abreast of the latest news, events, and announcements during the Presidential Transition. And just as this historic campaign was, from the beginning, about us — the transition process will offer Americans opportunities to participate in redefining our government.

To my marketing brethren, take notes.

  1. Stay on message;
  2. Keep it simple;
  3. Appropriately use technology and social media to collect names and push information;
  4. Develop iconography (e.g., signs and symbols) that people can manipulate and spread; and
  5. Create forums for people to congregate, learn, share and disseminate information (like this site).

Genius, pure genius!
