I’ve seen this CBS news clip several times since it’s been posted and each time I laugh a little bit louder.
Damon’s reference to Sarah Palin being one heartbeat away from the next President of the United States is classic — “It’s like a really bad disney movie…” and his passionate plea to find out whether or not Palin ‘thinks dinasours were here 4,000 years ago…’ is made for SNL.

It’s funny to you Brad, but it probably pisses off and inspires a lot of her fan base and her potential fan base.
Pisses them off because some snotty Hollywood actor is making fun of them and their religious beliefs.
Inspires them because what Damon sees as “a bad Disney movie” is a very inspiring and heart-warming script to them and the idea of a cool hockey mom facing down Vladimir Putin is a lot more palatable to them than the idea of a scrawny intellectual law school professor who reminds them of Jimmy Carter more than JFK facing down Vladimir Putin.
The idea of Hollywood celebs spouting off in favor of liberal Democratic candidates is a very bad one since that scenario has become a cliche that the right loves to exploit.

As I’ve said to you offline, while Sarah Palin has unquestionably provided the McCain camp with a very interesting and needed INITIAL boost, she will not age well in this race.
Democrats and Republicans will soon see that her inexperience is scarily detrimental to her running mate and realize that this is not the right ticket for this country at this time.
